PT OSS, a 2.5-million-ton annual capacity integrated stainless steel smelting project, was invested in and developed by the Xiamen Xiangyu Group in Southeast Sulawesi Province, Indonesia, in 2017. The project has been included in China's key project database under the Belt and Road Initiative and has also been designated as a National Strategic Project by the Government of Indonesia.
Leveraging Xiangyu Group’s strengths in supply chain management and logistics, the project promotes cross-border connectivity, enhances trade and investment cooperation, and facilitates the international expansion of China’s competitive industrial capacity. It not only helps meet the growing demand for stainless steel in the Chinese market and strengthens the global competitiveness of the stainless steel industry chain, but also plays a significant role in Indonesia’s industrial development, job creation, and infrastructure improvement. As a result, the project has greatly contributed to economic and trade cooperation as well as cultural exchanges between China and Indonesia.
OSS Industrial Plant Area
The Party Committee of Xiangyu Group officially approved the investment and development of the Xiangyu Indonesia Integrated Stainless Steel Smelting Project, marking the formal launch of the project preparation phase.
The OSS project was included in China’s key project database under the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI). Riding the momentum of the Belt and Road Initiative, Xiangyu Group officially embarked on its overseas development journey, carrying forward the spirit of the ancient Maritime Silk Road and opening a new chapter of international growth for Chinese state-owned enterprises in the new era.
The project’s No. 1 220kV Main Substation, as the first physical production unit to be commissioned, successfully completed its initial reverse power transmission on the first attempt. This milestone marked a critical breakthrough in the project’s development and signaled the dawn of its commercial operation.
Since entering full operation, we have continuously improved our production management system to ensure stable plant operations and steadily expand production capacity. At the same time, we have optimized our supply chain to enhance market competitiveness. Building on this foundation, we have actively implemented a localization strategy by strengthening the technical skills and management capabilities of local employees, laying a solid foundation for the company’s long-term and sustainable development.
